Compare a meeting time
How to use the converter
- Enter the meeting’s date and time in UTC, using the input above. It is not a field for your local time.
- Read the converted time and calendar date for each city. Some locations may be on the previous or next day.
- Use Use current UTC time to reset the comparison to the current minute.
The live clocks continue to show the present time; changing the meeting field changes only the comparison below it. The display uses a 24-hour clock.
Why the date matters
Some locations change their offset during the year. For example, London and New York do not always switch daylight-saving time on the same date. Using the intended meeting date is more reliable than memorizing a fixed time difference.
The converter uses named time zones and your browser’s time-zone data. It starts from an unambiguous UTC moment, avoiding the repeated or skipped local times that can occur when clocks change.
Check before sending an invitation
Confirm the date as well as the hour. A late-evening UTC meeting can fall on tomorrow’s date in Tokyo. Add the meeting to a calendar with an explicit time zone and check how the calendar displays it for attendees.
These clocks depend on your device’s clock and browser data. An incorrect system time or outdated time-zone database can produce an incorrect result. For a critical deadline, confirm the relevant organization’s stated time zone and use an up-to-date calendar or official time source.
